UAlbany Peace Action is a recognized student club at the University at Albany.
Our purpose is to build a community of effective student activists and educate the University at Albany campus on today’s important issues of peace and justice.
Joining UAlbany Peace Action is a great opportunity for students who want to be part of a growing network of progressive-minded students and become involved in the youth movement for peace. We not only learn about the local and national issues of today, but also get to take action on the issues that matter most to us!
UAlbany Peace Action is a branch of Upper Hudson Peace Action and an affiliated chapter of Peace Action Fund of New York State (PANYS), http://panys.org/.
Both groups provide us with a lot of great student activist materials and resources, including issue education, campaign support, sample petitions, how-to guides and much more! They also offer help with organizing events such as rallies, lobby visits and trainings, guest-speaker events, and student conferences.
If the Occupy Movement tells us one thing, it’s that if we organize together, we as students can make our voice heard and have an impact on what’s going on around us. It’s time we empower ourselves and bring some political and social action to our campus!Interested in joining UAlbany Peace Action?
