Upper Hudson Peace Action has established a new Peace Action
branch in Troy, New York. The group will facilitate peace activism in and
around the Troy area. If you would like to join Troy
Neighbors for Peace, or have
questions, please write to us at
meridiancomm@earthlink.net.
As its inaugural initiative, Troy Neighbors for
Peace (our initial name was Troy Peace Action) coordinated the "Eyes Wide Open" exhibit, featuring boots and shoes to
demonstrate the war American and Iraqi war dead, at the Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute.
Additional initial efforts include urging churches to
recognize Hiroshima Day, reaching Troy students and parents with information
on how to opt out of receiving recruiting information from the military, and
establishing a regular Troy peace vigil. |
