Vigil Chatham NY Burma Shave Signs

On a recent Saturday in Chatham village green the Upper Hudson Peace action gathered to vigil and show its new signage. The Idea came from Bob Elmendorf of Chatham who remembered the old Burma Shave signs and decided to use the methodology to promote a message of peace, thus the poem:Preemptive war’s been all the rage | But now its time to turn the page | Our endless wars will surely cease | When we declare preemptive peace. The poem comes from Hervie Harris of Schodack who is a member of Veterans for Peace. (David Lee/Hudson-Catskill Newspapers)
