Schenectady Neighbors for Peace presented a Miss America pageant with contestants representing what we miss about America-- like fair play and honesty.  Contestants included Miss Appropriation, Miss Underestimated, and Miss Interpretation, among others.

Representatives of area peace groups (including Peace Action, two of our branches, Bethlehem Neighbors for Peace and Guilderland Neighbors for Peace, as well as our Student Peace Action Network) met with Congressman Elect Paul Tonko December 9, 2008.


Pat Beetle and Maggy Wiard hold our new Hiroshima banner.  We commemorated Hiroshima Day 2008 with 5 separate events, including a Scotia Peace Walk and an Albany reading of John Hersey’s Hiroshima.

Peace Action members Anna Marfey, Anita McDonald, and Tom Ellis staff our booth at the May 2008 Tulip Festival.  We spoke to hundreds of individuals.
